On Saturday, November 22, the head of the Seven Summits Club and leader of the expedition to Antarctica Alexander Abramov along with Club guide Sergey Kofanov successfully departed from wintry Moscow, heading toward the summer in Chile. In a short timeframe they have to prepare all the essentials for the teams traveling to Antarctica. The first team is due to leave for the white continent already on November 27.

The first message from Alexandr Abramov:

Impressions of the flight – we flew over Patagonia - the view is breathtaking!

Impressions of the airport – Airport named after Karl Ibanson… a jarring name for the Russian ear.

Punta Arenas – snowing. This is the kind of lousy summer they have down here...
